Sony to release new 40GB PS3 model and cut prices in Japan

Following the introduction of the 40GB PS3 in Europe now its Japan's turn to see the same new model in a new white color.

The new model, will be a new 40 GB model that comes in two colors: clear black and ceramic white. It'll be available on November 11 for 39,980 yen (US$ 340).

Also Sony is planning to lower the price of the current PlayStation 3 models in Japan come October 17. The 20 GB model will be sold for 44,980 yen (US$ 380) and the 60 GB model for 54,980 yen (US$ 469).

Japan will be the fist to see the new Dual Shock 3 controller. It will come out on November 11 in both clear black and ceramic white. Dual Shock 3 will cost in Japan 5,500 yen (US$ 47). Europe and US will see Dual Shock 3 sometime next sprint.
