Arrow Mozilla celebrates Firefox 10th anniversary with 18 percent market share

Ever since Microsoft took over full control of the web browser market with Internet Explorer from Netscape Navigator nothing and never had a stand against Microsoft popular Internet browser. After many years of one-way Internet browsing things are about to change since Mozilla's Firefox is getting a lot of love from web surfers.

While Mozilla celebrating the 10th anniversary of Firefox, a report came out and claims that Firefox share in Internet Browser usage skyrocket to 18% as of December 2007! Microsoft's Internet Explorer still leads the market by far and holds 79% of the market while all other browsers like Apple's Safari, Opera etc. are all sharing the rest and tinny 3%.

The last time a browser who showed progress against the competition, in the end took over the market, that was Internet Explorer killing Netscape Navigator.

Of course things are different now but still this progress remains more than impressive.

All this happens while Mozilla and Microsoft are hardly working on their major next generation releases of the Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 8 correspondence with both of them to be in Beta mode already and both expected to be release in the next couple of months.
