Release date for the N96 in some countries is August 2008.

As far as I know there are no Nokia N95 Made in Japan.
All I have see is "Made in Finland" and "Made by Nokia"

If you ever saw an real Nokia N95 then is real to understand the fake one.

If you want post some pictures here and I can tell you if is the real thing or not.

Finland model has gps/ wifi
Chinese has not gps / wifi
American Version that is made in korea is best : has gps, wifi & screen is 2.8 inches ( bigger ) other versions have 2.6 inches.
American Version also has 6 months free voice guided gps.

Over bad : NOKIA phones dont have Sirf III chipset. So GPS service is a paid service only if you have cell phone signal. No cell phone signal, NO GPS ...

N95 Made in Korea? First time I hear that.

Also you said that the Chinese version comes without GPS/wifi?
As far as I know all N95's and N95's 8GB not matter where they are made comes with GPS and Wi-Fi b/g build in and yes the GPS is is lower than the Sirf III.

first of all i am in austraila
and i have a "MADE by nokia" N95 and a "made in finland " N95

now the problem is the "finland" one has a cracked screen
so i took it to my local phone repair shop to get a screen


and guess what .... i cant use a MADE by NOKIA screen as they have different conections
(we only had the MADE by NOKIA ones sold here)
can anyone please please help me find a MADE in FINLAND screen

After a quick eBay search I was able to find a couple of sellers with N95 screens, have a look here:
n95 screen, Cell Phone PDA Accessories, Wholesale Lots items on eBay.com

Just contact the sellers and ask the information you need for the screen before you order.
